Daddy's Finally Home

After being home alone with the kids for nearly a week......he's finally home deer and all! The kids were a little freaked out by the whole idea of looking at the deer....the girls warmed up a little...Ezra not so much! Not what a hunter wants to see about his boy. Liv was gone to school already so we missed getting a picture with her....bummer, but daddy said he got one on his phone!

Dear Bambi,

Dear Bambi,
Thank you for coming out of hiding and letting my husband find you. Although your life is now over mine will become much easier and happier.....you see he has been looking for you since last Friday. We did survive croup and Halloween without him, however, we miss him and would like him back. So again thank you for your cooperation. Emily

Happy Halloween!

We had a great time going to the grocery store haunted house, going to a trunk or treat, and going door to door trick or treating in our very own neighborhood. Isabella was sick of it by the end and wanted to go home.....I guess that means she got enough candy! Ezra wasn't too into the dressing up part, or the picture taking....hence the reason no pictures of all three together, he hated his hat and large coat.....I'll give him a few years and I'm sure he will change his mind. Olivia loves every bit of Halloween, she couldn't wait to count her candy and organize it all when we got home....I so remember doing this as a kid! Love it! We were even lucky enough to have grandma come for another visit!

Conversation.....

(driving to a dentist apt. with Isabella)
Isabella: Ally painted her tree red.
Me: Oh really.
Isabella: Mom Look! Ely painted his tree red too!
She thinks everyone is painting their trees! LOL! After explaining to her that's what happens when fall comes, she still argues that everyone is painting their trees! Oh to be a 3 year old again!

What do you read at night?

Call me weird, strange, if your my husband obsessed, but at night time I love to read cook books! Over the years I have collected many cook books and have found some of my favorite recipes....some I have tweeked to my liking and others not. Here's just a few in my stack of many....one of my favorites is Williams Sonoma Baking.....I find my self going back to that book quite frequently. So I'm looking for a few new ones....what do you suggest...do you have a favorite?
I just got my wards new cook book and gave this recipe a try and my family loved it...I love soup recipes this time of year!
Cheesy Potato Soup
4 to 5 potatoes cubed
diced baby carrots
