Names

Okay so this is the last venting session of the week I promise!!!  I find it very interesting the way people respond to you when they ask you what names you are thinking of naming your baby.
You get responses like
"oh"
"oh that's interesting"
"oh my hell"
"hmm"
"have you thought of  this instead"
"wow"
"well I have heard of worse"
(yes I have had all of these said to me not just during this pregnancy but previous ones as well)
And then you get looks on faces that tell you pretty much the same things as the responses above.

You know, wouldn't this world be boring if we all liked and named our kids the same names?  Some people like the old fashioned, the trendy, the made up names, the plain jane names, the usual and unusual, and  I think its great.  It wouldn't be very fun if all of our kids went to school with the same names.  And chances are if you don't like my names I don't like yours. But, thats what gives us identity and character and makes us who we are.  So if you don't like my kids names thats ok! Just give me the same respect about mine as I do about yours!

REALLY????

So today I have had it!!!!! Yesterday Olivia woke up with a headache and said she was tired, so I assumed that she did way too much during the week and I shouldn't have sent her to school.  But, she was acting fine the whole week before school resumed so I figured she was fine....I was wrong.  Last night she got a fever and her eyes were bright red, so I called the Dr. on call and he told me to take her in and have her blood drawn.  So I hurried to the insta care...well they changed their hours from 9-9 to 8-8.  So  I ended up in the ER.  Her liver enzymes looked good so they sent us home and told me it was probably a new virus but they were going to culture her urine because there was some bacteria in it.  Well this morning she woke up with another raging fever and hives all over her back and mid-section.  I am so sick of sick!

The Phone Call

Me- hello
Other end- Emily its Dr. N
Me- What's up
Dr. N- I've been looking at your chart and thinking about things since your apt. this morning
Me- and you want to wait longer
Dr. N- Yep
( I had an appointment yesterday morning and this baby is measuring small, on the way home and all day yesterday I was nervous about my c-section on the 15th)
Me- good because I wasn't feeling good about it
Dr. N- neither was I
Me- so are you thinking after you get home from Hawaii
Dr. N- yep

So in the end this baby still needs to cook! We are planning on the 25th instead of th 15th. Ten more days isn't bad!?! Especially if it means I can bring him home instead of leaving him in the NICU.  So we are now scheduled for January 25th if all goes well.  All I can say is grow baby grow!

A Very Happy Birthday!

I had a great Birthday yesterday! What's better than.....sledding, hot shot cocoa ice cream, going out for breakfast, shopping with the hubby, coming home to a cake made by my girls in their Easy Bake oven, and dinner at the Smokin Blues Restaurant? Nothing! What a fun day! Thanks guys!

Happy New Year!

Wow! It is so hard to believe that another year has come and gone! Why does time pass by so quickly the older you get?  We were talking last night about some of the fun things that we did together last year, and looking forward to a great year in 2010.  We went to Disneyland for the first time.  I took my phototshop class and am still learning as I go. Jake and I ran two 5ks together, I didn't make it to a marathon, but, for good reason.  We were able to go to San Diego for a week together as a family and stay on the beach. We went to Sea World twice.  Liv started the first grade and is an awesome reader, loves dance and is a great sister, Bella turned 3 and was able to start dance, and is all about who she gets to play with, and is also a great sister, Ezra turned one and is all about trucks and balls. We found out we were having another baby boy to our surprise! We put in our front yard. We went in on a boat with some friends and had a blast on it in the short month that was warm.  This year is going to start with alot of excitement in our house and I am looking forward to a great year! Happy New Year!
